The RoLab Filter is a highly portable nutsche filter designed and engineered to efficiently handle the filtration and drying of pilot plant and small-scale pharmaceutical and chemical batches. Its size range and versatility allow the Rolab to be incorporated in both laboratory and production environments. This modified Rosenmund provides all of the process functionality and attention to detail found in traditional Rosenmund filters/dryers but at a fraction of the cost.
Depending on the application involved, RoLab has the flexibility to perform any and all of the following process functions:
- Filling
- Filtration under pressure
- Washing of the filter cake
- Smoothing of the filter cake
- Convective drying (nitrogen blow through) of the filter cake
- Vacuum drying of the filter cake
- Heating and cooling
- Discharging of the filter cake
The RoLab Filter is specifically designed according to cGMP and FDA standards, being completely suitable for CIP and WIP. The vessel uses no hydraulics, thus avoiding complicated installations and maintenance. The lower bowl assembly can simply be wheeled out from underneath the upper part to allow for easy cleaning between batches.
Only five connections are required for set up, consisting of 460VAC, pressure/vacuum, nitrogen, slurry inlet, and heating/cooling utilities. Not only is the installation easy to perform, but its compact design makes it simple to move around and install in small areas.
Available in (316L) stainless steel or alloy C22, the RoLab offers a variety of additional options to optimize any given process. A side discharge opening with PAD flange or valve offers maximum product expulsion. Heated s-blade agitators (available in sizes 0.2m2 and greater) decrease drying times and increase heat transfer rates. Other options include, but are not limited too, sampling valves, vessel lights, dust filters, double mechanical seals, electric motors, tachometers, and process valves.
The RoLab Filter is available in sizes 0.03m2 (7.68” vessel diameter) to 0.40m2 (29.5” vessel diameter), with volume ranges from 20 liters (11.1 gal) to 464 liters (122.6 gal).
