Evaporators
De Dietrich Process Systems has developed standard equipment for many basic procedures of thermal separation technology . Our experiences with corrosion-resistant materials and knowledge of the special requirements of chemical, pharmaceutical and associated industries has gone into these systems:
Rotadest - Rotary Film Evaporator
Distillation Overheads
Climbing Film Evaporators/Plating Chemical Recovery
Rotadest Product Description

The DDPS Rotary Film Evaporator, Rotadest®, is a self contained, thin film rotating evaporator designed for solvents containing heat sensitive materials.
Rotadest Applications
The evaporators are particularly suited for applications with stringent requirements for purity, visibility, and corrosion resistance. The Rotadest can be found in chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries and is used for the evaporation of suspensions, crystallization processes, and the drying of powders and granules. The units are designed for continuous or batch production.
Rotadest Features
The Rotadest features:
- Rotating Flask - Spherical vessel constructed of QVF corrosion-resistant borosilicate glass provides uniform heat transfer over a large surface area to the thin film, avoiding localized heating.
- Heating Bath – heated by steam or electricity
- Drive – provides variable speed of flask rotation, sealed by a mechanical seal
- Cabinet – Accommodates all controls and utility piping
Rotadest Specifications
- Volumes from 20 to 100 liters
- Operates under atmospheric pressure or under vacuum for low temperature boiling
Options
- Custom designed glass layout to meet specific customer requirements
- Available with US electrical standards (UL components) as well as explosion proof design
- Full automation with dedicated chiller and vacuum system can be supplied upon request

Distillation Overhead Product Description

The distillation overhead assembly comprises components from QVF's high quality World Product Range which is approved as meeting the Pressure Equipment Directive and the equipment safety regulations and which carries the CE mark.
Distillation Overheads Features
To ensure that the equipment drains completely the horizontal piping carrying the product is installed at an angle of 5°. The inclined condenser has a rinsing neck and the receiver vessel can be emptied and rinsed out during the process by means of valve V3. The integral sampling valve V9 is used to take samples from the current distillate flow, even when operating under vacuum.
Distillation Overheads Advantages
With its safety flat buttress end, the distillation overhead assembly provides a GMP-compliant coupling.
