OptiMix® - The future is here!

Introducing a new concept in glass-lined steel reactor design that makes all others obsolete. Exclusively from De Dietrich Glass Lining, OptiMix® offers tremendous optimization of the mixing performance of glass-lined steel reactors by integrating three baffles on the vessel wall. The OptiMix® design offers the following advantages:

  • Best possible baffling in a glass-lined reactor. Moves mixing efficiency up from under-baffled” to a “fully- baffled” regime.
  • All top head nozzles are now available for process use - none are needed to support baffles.
  • Improved baffling/agitation results in better overall batch heat transfer.
  • Eliminates difficult to clean top head pocket at baffle/baffle nozzle interface. Greatly improves clean-in place (CIP) efficiency.

The OptiMix® integral baffle design is available on new clamped-top (CTJ) and closed welded (GL) type reactors. In addition, OptiMix® baffles can be added to an existing vessel during reglassing, allowing you to easily upgrade all the reactors in your plant with this state-of-the-art technology.

OptiMix® - Now available for HemiCoil® reactors

De Dietrich has combined the latest cutting edge technologies in glass-lining to produce a process reactor of unequaled performance - the Half-Coil OptiMix®.

By melding the advantages of the half-coil jacket and the GlasLock® agitator, with OptiMix’s three integral side wall mounted baffles, De Dietrich can now offer to pharmaceutical and chemical producers a high performance reactor with superior efficiencies in both mixing and heat transfer.

The OptiMix® design is offered on clamp-top (CTJ) reactor sizes 20 through 200 gallons and on GL closed-welded type reactors from 300 to 2,000 gallons. All reactor types can be equipped with either a half-pipe or conventional jacket.

De Dietrich Glass Lining Activity has been manufacturing half-pipe jacketed vessels for over 30 years. Today, HemiCoil® manufacturing is conducted in a highly automated workshop with the formed coils attached to the vessel by robotic welding machines.

With a HemiCoil® split-pipe jacketed reactor, heating and cooling media flow through the pipe coils with high velocity and turbulence. As a result, film coefficients and heat transfer rates are higher than in conventional jackets. Combined with the greatly improved internal turbulence resulting from OptiMix’s three baffles, HemiCoil OptiMix® is clearly the best choice for heat transfer in a glass-lined steel reactor.

To complement the high internal reactor performance, the vessel exterior can be insulated and sheathed to produce a masterpiece in processing equipment.
