Process Engineer - Mountainside, NJ 

    Position Summary

    Coordinate responses to all process engineering related inquiries directed to the Engineered Systems Group & execution of process design & Project management.  Analyze customer requests to determine if viable technical and commercial solutions can be provided.  Assist in the preparation, coordination and/or writing of proposals.  Provide process engineering to active projects, including design and drawing development and review. Maintain continued technical communication with customers.  Supervise & support project through design (mechanical/electrical/controls), assembly, Factory & Site acceptance.  Provide processing engineering expertise to aftermarket group on existing systems and operational issues.

     

    Position Qualifications

    Minimum Education 

    BS degree in Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering.

     

    Minimum Experience  

    5-10 years of experience implementing fundamentals of chemical unit operations in a design or production environment in the chemical processing or related industry. Project management skills in schedule & cost forecasting/maintenance, and reporting.  Key is ability to provide/ foster corrective action plans to minimize changes to the above.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required  

    Thorough knowledge of the company’s products.  Sound understanding of chemical engineering principles and their application to design and operation of process equipment (batch and continuous).  Good problem solver with the ability to identify what information is required and identifying what questions need to be asked to achieve this.  Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, technical and non-technical.  Ability to use typical Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, in the execution of responsibilities.  Ability to use software design programs.

     

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Self-starter with high level of initiative, able to work with minimum supervision. Pharmaceutical Batch Process Design & Validation experience.   Good communication skills with customers, vendors and colleagues at all levels of the organization.  Flexible in task management, so able to work in an environment where priorities can change at short notice.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
